Keysight (Agilent) 83485A   Description / Specification:
Keysight (Agilent) 83485A 20 GHz Electrical/20 GHz Optical Plug-In Module

The Agilent 83485A is an optical/electrical plug-in module for 83480A and 86100A digital communications analyzer, incorporates two measurement channels, one optical and one electrical. Each channel has two selectable bandwidth settings. In the lower bandwidth modes of 12.4 GHz, oscilloscope noise performance is excellent, while the 20 GHz mode allows greater fidelity for high speed signals. The optical channel is calibrated at 1310 nm and 1550 nm to provide both accurate display of the received optical waveform in optical power units and measurement of the signal's average power. In addition, the User Cal feature provides for consistent accuracy at any wavelength between 1200 nm and 1600 nm using a source and power meter. Switchable SDH/SONET filter for transceiver compliance testing. Option 030, STM-1/0C-3. Option 032, STM-4/0C -12, Option 034, STM-16/0C-48

Crest Factor
Crest factor or peak-to-average ratio (PAR) is a measurement of a waveform, calculated from the peak amplitude of the waveform divided by the RMS value of the waveform

Linearity
Linearity is the relative difference between the displayed power ratio, Dx/D0, and the actual (true) power ratio Px/P0 caused by changing the displayed power level from the reference level, D0, to an arbitrary displayed level, Dx.

Phase Noise
Phase noise is the frequency domain representation of rapid, short-term, random fluctuations in the phase of a waveform, caused by time domain instabilities. Phase noise (L(f)) is typically expressed in units of dBc/Hz, representing the noise power relative to the carrier contained in a 1 Hz bandwidth centered at a certain offsets from the carrier.

Sensitivity
Sensitivity is the minimum magnitude of input signal required to produce a specified output signal having a specified signal-to-noise ratio, or other specified criteria.
