NOISE-COM UFX7107 100 MHz Amplified Noise Source

The Noise Com UFX7107 is a 100 MHz amplified noise source that is tuned to provide the best flatness at the instrument output. The amplifier is optimized to deliver an output with a Gaussian amplitude distribution. Noise output power level can be adjusted from 0 to 127 dB in 1 dB (optionally 0.1 dB) steps.

Specifications.

Frequency Range: 100 Hz - 100 MHz.
Power: + 13 dBm.
dBm/Hz: -67.
Flatness: ±0.75 dBm.
μV/sqrt(Hz): 100.
Output: White Gaussian noise.
Attenuator: 0 to 127 dB in 1 dB steps, 0 to 79 dB above 2 GHz, (0.1 dB steps optional).
Control: Local and IEEE-488.
Impedance: 50 ohms (others optional).

Averaging
Averaging is a mathematical process to reduce the variation in a measurement by summing the data points from multiple measurements and dividing by the number of points summed.

Fall Time
Fall time is the time required for the amplitude of a pulse to decrease (fall) from a specified value (usually 90 percent of the peak value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot) to another specified value (usually 10 percent of the maximum value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot).

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Resolution Bandwidth (RBW)
Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) is the minimum bandwidth over which you can separate two signals and still see them.
