ANDO AQ-7301B Optical Return Loss Measuring Unit

The Ando AQ-7301B Optical Return Loss Measuring Unit measures optical return loss using a high-performance optical loss directional coupler. With the aid of an optical power meter and light source. The AQ-7301B enables you to obtain the optical reutrn loss of PC-type connectors. The relative value is referenced against the total reflection value of a reference fiber. the end of which is vacuum-coated with gold. Specifications. Wavelength: 1.3 um and 1.55 um. Measurement range: 0 to 40 dB or more. Measurement stability: within ±1dB. Waveform: 270Hz chopped light. Optical connector: PC type SM10/125 um. Accessories: AQ-9316B Optical Reflector, AQ-9315B Optical Terminator.

Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL)
Polarization Dependent Loss is the difference between the maximum and minimum values of loss due to the variation of the polarization states of light propagating through a device. PDL is expressed in decibels. Calculated by; PDL = 10 log10 (Ep/Es), where EP and ES are the measured diffraction efficiencies for P- and S-plane polarized incident light, respectively.

Return Loss (RL)
Return Loss (RL) is the ratio of the incident power to the reflected power expressed in dB. RL = 10log (Pin/Pback)

Wavelength Resolution
Wavelength Resolution is the smallest possible displayed wavelength increment/decrement.
