Keysight (Agilent) 83640B   Description / Specification:
Keysight (Agilent) 83640B 40 GHz Synthesized Sweeper

The HP 83640B Synthesized Swept-Signal Generator, combines excellent frequency resolution, level control, signal purity, and modulation capabilities you expect of a high-performance synthesized signal generator with the speed and convenience of a sweep oscillator. They are ideal for the demanding requirements of signal simulation, local oscillator, and stimulus/ response component or subsystem test applications. High-performance pulse modulators with >80 dB on/off ratio, and rise/ fall times < 10 ns (Option 006), make the HP 83640B suitable for the most demanding pulse modulation applications. In addition to its linear AM mode (100%/V), the HP 83640B offers a scan modulation mode (10 dB/V). Both modes have dc-coupled amplitude modulation capability with a 3 dB bandwidth of 100 kHz, and 99.7% (50 dB) of modulation depth. Pulse and amplitude modulation capabilities can be used independently and simultaneously. The HP 83640B also offers dc-coupled frequency modulation capabilities with rates up to 8 MHz. Specifications. Frequency Range: 10 MHz to 40 GHz. Resolution: 1 kHz (Option 008 1 Hz). Internal 10 MHz Time Base. Aging Rate: 5 x 10^-10/day, 1 x 10^-7/year. Output Power, Maximum Leveled: Output Frequencies <26.5 GHz +10 dBm, Output Frequencies >=26.5 GHz +6 dBm. Minimum Settable Output Power; Standard: -20 dBm, Option 001; -110 dBm. Resolution: 0.02 dB. Modulation; Pulse: On/Off Ratio 80 dB. Rise/Fall Times 25 ns. Minimum Width Internally Leveled 1 µs. AM and Scan; Bandwidth: (3 dB, 30% depth, modulation peaks 3 dB below maximum rated power): DC to 100 kHz. Modulation Depth: Normal Mode: –20 dBm to maximum available power. Options. Opt 001: Adds Step Attenuator. Opt 002: Adds Internal Modulation Generator. Opt 004: Rear-Panel RF Output. Opt 006: Fast-Pulse Modulation. Opt 008: 1 Hz Frequency Resolution. Opt 700: MATE System Compatibility.

RF Connector Replacement
Damaged or broken connector (2.4mm) on your microwave signal source or spectrum analyzer? OEM won't sell the replacement to you? Custom-Cal has the solution.  Want the connector moved from the from to rear on your signal source, this service is also the solution to undo the obsolete Model # -0041 (RF output connector moved to rear panel)
The input and output connectors on your microwave test equipment affects more than signal fidelity. A damaged connector will destroy expensive adapters and cables.
Whether your RF connector is worn out or was broken through mishandling or accident, Custom-Calibration Solutions will replace the OEM connector with a refurbished connector and new hard-line and bracket, as appropriate. The refurbished connector system will improve:
Signal fidelity (flatness or frequency response)
 Input reflection (VSWR)
 Output impedance match
 Measurement repeatability
 Ease of connection
 Cable and adapter life

Crest Factor
Crest factor or peak-to-average ratio (PAR) is a measurement of a waveform, calculated from the peak amplitude of the waveform divided by the RMS value of the waveform

Linearity
Linearity is the relative difference between the displayed power ratio, Dx/D0, and the actual (true) power ratio Px/P0 caused by changing the displayed power level from the reference level, D0, to an arbitrary displayed level, Dx.

Phase Noise
Phase noise is the frequency domain representation of rapid, short-term, random fluctuations in the phase of a waveform, caused by time domain instabilities. Phase noise (L(f)) is typically expressed in units of dBc/Hz, representing the noise power relative to the carrier contained in a 1 Hz bandwidth centered at a certain offsets from the carrier.

Sensitivity
Sensitivity is the minimum magnitude of input signal required to produce a specified output signal having a specified signal-to-noise ratio, or other specified criteria.
