Keysight (Agilent) 83650B 50 GHz Synthesized Sweeper

The HP 83650B Synthesized Swept-Signal Generator, combines excellent frequency resolution, level control, signal purity, and modulation capabilities you expect of a high-performance synthesized signal generator with the speed and convenience of a sweep oscillator. They are ideal for the demanding requirements of signal simulation, local oscillator, and stimulus/ response component or subsystem test applications. High-performance pulse modulators with >80 dB on/off ratio, and rise/ fall times < 10 ns (Option 006), make the HP 83650B suitable for the most demanding pulse modulation applications. In addition to its linear AM mode (100%/V), the HP 83650B offers a scan modulation mode (10 dB/V). Both modes have dc-coupled amplitude modulation capability with a 3 dB bandwidth of 100 kHz, and 99.7% (50 dB) of modulation depth. Pulse and amplitude modulation capabilities can be used independently and simultaneously. The HP 83650B also offers dc-coupled frequency modulation capabilities with rates up to 8 MHz. Available Gain
Available Gain is the ratio, at a specific frequency, of power available from the output to the power in from the source.

Decibel (dB)
A unit of measurement of power which indicates relative power. A -10 dB means a reduction in power by 10 times, -20 dB means another 10 times or 100 times overall, -30 means another 10 times or 1000 times overall and so on.

Mismatch Uncertainty
Mismatch Uncertainty is caused by re-reflections between one device (the source) and the device that follows it (the load).

Pulse Power
Pulse Power, the energy transfer rate is averaged over the pulse width. Pulse width is considered to be the time between the 50 percent risetime/falltime amplitude points. Pulse power averages out any aberrations in the pulse envelope such as overshoot or ringing.
