   ADVANTEST R3767CH   Description / Specification:
ADVANTEST R3767CH 8 GHz Vector Network Analyzer, 50 ohm

The Advantest R3767CH is a vector network analyzerwhich can measure the amplitude, phase, group delay time and impedance of high-frequency electronic devices with high precision and high speed. High speed measurement of 0.15ms/point (at normalized calibration) or 0.25ms/point (at 2- port full calibration) with 10 kHz resolution bandwidth. With it's built-in S-parameter test set, the R3767CH can measure forward characteristics (S11 and S21) and reverse characteristics (S22 and S12) with high accuracy in auto-reversing mode. By connecting the optional duplexer test adapter, it can measure a duplexer with three ports. Specifications. Signal Source Measurement frequency Range: 40 MHz to 8.0 GHz. Set resolution: 1 Hz. Measurement resolution: ±0.005 ppm. Accuracy: ±20 ppm (25°C ±5° C). Stability: ±5 ppm (25°C ±5° C). Output level Range (40 MHz to 3.8 GHz): +10 to -15 dBm. Output impedance: 50 ohms. Receiver Resolution bandwidth: 10 kHz to 10 Hz (in 1 or 3 steps). Amplitude resolution: 0.001 dB. Display: 7.8-inch TFT color LCD.

Average Power
Average power means that the energy transfer rate is to be averaged over many periods of the lowest frequency involved. For a CW signal, the lowest frequency and highest frequency are the same, so average power and power are the same. For an amplitude modulated wave, the power must be averaged over many periods of the modulation component of the signal as well.

Harmonic
A harmonic of a wave is a component frequency of the signal that is an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency, i.e. if the fundamental frequency is f, the harmonics have frequencies 2f, 3f, 4f, . . . etc.

Phase Noise
Phase noise is the frequency domain representation of rapid, short-term, random fluctuations in the phase of a waveform, caused by time domain instabilities. Phase noise (L(f)) is typically expressed in units of dBc/Hz, representing the noise power relative to the carrier contained in a 1 Hz bandwidth centered at a certain offsets from the carrier.
