   TEKTRONIX CFG280   Description / Specification:
TEKTRONIX CFG280 Function Generator w/Counter

The Tektronix CFG280 combines an 11 MHz Function Generator, which produces sine, square, and triangle waves, plus TTL signals, with a 100 MHz Frequency Counter. The onboard counter allows the operator to set the frequency output of the function generator precisely. This versatile instrument conserves both benchtop and budget by combining the two capabilities. Specifications. Waveform Outputs: Square wave, sine wave, triangle wave, TTL pulse, sweep functions for all outputs. Ranges: 0.1 Hz (calibrated) to 11 MHz in 8 ranges. Frequency Multiplier: Variable from 0.1 to 1 (uncalibrated), 1 to 11 (calibrated). Dial Accuracy: ±5% of full scale from 0.1 Hz to 10 MHz. Sine Wave Distortion: <1% (10 Hz to 100 kHz), -30 dB at all other frequencies. Square Wave Response: <= 25 ns rise/fall time, maximum output into 50 ohm load. Main Output Amplitude: 0-20 V p-p. Attenuator: 20 dB. Internal Variable Sweep Rate. 0.5 Hz to 50 Hz. Counter Specifications. Frequency Range (AC coupled): 1 Hz to 100 MHz. Sensitivity: 30 mV RMS from 1 Hz to 50 MHz; 50 mV RMS from 50 MHz to 100 MHz. Period Range/Resolution: 1 ms to 60 s / 1 ms. Frequency Accuracy: ±(time base error + 1 count). Period Accuracy: ±(time base error + 1 count trigger error). LED Display

Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Channel Bandwidth
Channel Bandwidth is the bandwidth over which power is measured. This is usually the bandwidth in which almost all of the power of a signal is contained.

Jitter
Jitter in technical terms is the deviation in or displacement of some aspect of the pulses in a high-frequency digital signal. Jitter is the time variation of a periodic signal in electronics and telecommunications, often in relation to a reference clock source. Jitter may be observed in characteristics such as the frequency of successive pulses, the signal amplitude, or phase of periodic signals. Jitter is a significant, and usually undesired, factor in the design of almost all communications links (e.g., USB, PCI-e, SATA, OC-48). In clock recovery applications it is called timing jitter.

Overshoot
Overshoot is the distortion that follows a major transition; the difference between the peak power point and the pulse-top amplitude computed as a percentage of the pulse-top amplitude.

Rise Time
Rise time refers to the time required for a signal to change from a specified low value to a specified high value, usually 10 and 90 percent of pulse-top amplitude (vertical display is linear power).
