   TEKTRONIX FG503   Description / Specification:
TEKTRONIX FG503 Function Generator Plug-In

The Tektronix FG 503 Function Generator provides high-quality low-distortion sine, square, and triangle waveforms. Six decade frequency multiple steps, a custom position for user-determined frequency multiplication, a dial calibrated from 1.0 to 30 (uncalibrated from 0.1 to 1.0), and a frequency vernier control work together to select frequencies in overlapping ranges from 1 Hz to 3 MHz. The output frequency can be swept over a 1000:1 ratio by an external voltage. Output amplitude and offset controls are provided. A trigger output is available for controlling external devices or equipment. Amplitude up to 10 V peak-to peak can be developed across a 50-ohmload (20 V peak-to-peak open circuit). Selectable offset up to 3.75 V dc across 50 ohm (7 .5 V dc open circuit) is also featured. Frequency Range with var. symmetry: 1 Hz to 3 MHz (0.01 Hz to 5 MHz usable). Dial Accuracy % of full scale: <=5. Amplitude open circuit: 20 Vpp. Offset open circuit: ±7.5 V dc. Peak Signal + Offset open circuit: ±15 V dc. Output Impedance: 50 ohms. Amplitude Flatness 10-kHz ref, 50-ohm load): Sine ±0.5 dB, 20 Hz to 20 kHz; ±1.5 dB, 0.1 to 3 MHz; Triangle ±1 dB ref to Sine Wave; Square ±1 dB ref to Sine Wave. Square-Wave Response: <= 60-ns rise/fall; <=3% p-p aberrations.

*This is a Web introductory price for one calibration of the TEKTRONIX FG503. Price does not in most cases include measurement performance data. Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Averaging
Averaging is a mathematical process to reduce the variation in a measurement by summing the data points from multiple measurements and dividing by the number of points summed.

Fall Time
Fall time is the time required for the amplitude of a pulse to decrease (fall) from a specified value (usually 90 percent of the peak value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot) to another specified value (usually 10 percent of the maximum value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot).

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Resolution Bandwidth (RBW)
Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) is the minimum bandwidth over which you can separate two signals and still see them.
