   TEKTRONIX TM503   Description / Specification:
TEKTRONIX TM503 3-Slot Test and Measurement System Mainframe

The Tektronix TM 503 3-Slot Test and Measurement System Mainframe is designed so that connections between modules and / or external equipment can be made by the mainframe rear interface board and optional rear-panel connectors. Each plug-in has selected lines brought to its interface, some parallel to front-panel connections, others present only at the interface. Normally, these lines are left open, but they may be connected by the user to reduce front-pane clutter or to perform functions not otherwise available. For example, digital counters have serial bcd outputs which may be brought out for data logging or processing. Lines available for plug-in modules. Digital Counters: Bcd serial by digit, Range code, Scan clock out, Scan clock in and internal scan disable, Reset, Time slot zero, Data good and Signal in (selected by front-panel switch). Digital Multimeters: Scan clock out, Decimal point, Bcd serial by digit, Least significant digit, Most significant digit, Data transfer and Polarity. Power Supplies: Supply output through rear connection, Remote sense, Remote analog voltage control and Remote analog current limit control. Amplifiers: Signal Out and Signal In. Monitor: X, Y, and Z inputs. Oscilloscope: Ramp out and Gate out. Option 02 power modules are shipped with a rear·panel multipin connector, a mating cable connector, and one rear-panel BNC connector for each plug-in compartment. The user may wire these to the interface board as required. Option 02 is also supplied with square pin connectors on the rear interface board, and a supply of jumper wires with square pin receptacles.

Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

dBc
dBc (decibels relative to the carrier) is the power ratio of a signal to a carrier signal, expressed in decibels. If the dBc figure is positive, then the relative signal strength is greater than the carrier signal strength. If the dBc figure is negative, then the relative signal strength is less than carrier signal strength.

Load Regulation
Load regulation is the capability to maintain a constant voltage (or current) level on the output channel of a power supply despite changes in the supply's load (such as a change in resistance value connected across the supply output).

Power Linearity
When changing the power level and measuring the differences (in dB) between actual and displayed power levels, the power linearity is ± half the span (in dB) between the maximum and the minimum value of all differences.

Settling Time
Settling time of an output device is the time elapsed from the application of an ideal instantaneous step input to the time at which the amplifier output has entered and remained within a specified error band, usually symmetrical about the final value.
