EXFO IQ-206 Optical Test System Expansion Unit

The Exfo IQ-206 Optical Test System Expansion Unit, includes top-of-the-line scalable hardware such as a modular platform, expansion units and a complete range of plug-in test modules. The IQ test modules cover the optical T&M spectrum, from simple insertion loss testers all the way up to sophisticated PMD analyzers. You get all this in a system that is up to speed for comprehensive test result analysis and that is mobilized for GPIB and network communications. The Exfo IQ-203 is used to control the Exfo IQ-206. The test modules include; Power Meters: IQ-1100 Power Meter, IQ-1200 4-Channel Power Meter, IQ-1500 Calibration Power Meter, IQ-1600 High-Speed Power Meter. Multimode Fiber
Multimode Fiber has a large core (almost always 62.5 microns - a micron is one one millionth of a meter - but sometimes 50 microns) and is used with LED sources at wavelengths of 850 and 1300 nm for short distance, lower speed networks like LANs. Both multimode and singlemode fiber have an outside diameter of 125 microns - about 5 thousandths of an inch - just slightly larger than a human hair.

Power Repeatability is the random uncertainty in reproducing the power level after changing and re-setting the power level. The power repeatability is ± half the span (in dB) between the highest and lowest actual power.
