Keysight (Agilent) N8481B 18 GHz Thermocouple Power Sensor

The Agilent N8481B Thermocouple Power Sensor is the replacement solution for 8480 Series Power Sensors. The new power sensor is integrated with EEPROM feature, which allows users to calibrate the power sensors without manually entering the calibration factors to the power meter. By comparing to legacy 8480 Series Power Sensors, there are tremendous improvements such as wider dynamic range and frequency range, better accuracy, linearity, repeatability, and SWR. Specifications. Frequency range: 10 MHz to 18 GHz. Dynamic power range: –5 to +44 dBm. Damage level (average power): +49 dBm. Damage level (peak power): 500 W/1 µs. Maximum SWR 25 °C ± 10 °C: 1.09 (10 MHz to 2 GHz), 1.14 (2 to 12.4 GHz), 1.23 (12.4 to 18 GHz). Linearity (25 °C ± 10 °C): ±0.52% (+29 to < +39 dBm), ±1.66% (+39 to +44 dBm), negligible at other power ranges. Connector: N-type (male). Option CFT, N8481B sensor without the calibration factor table stored in the EEPROM.

dBc
dBc (decibels relative to the carrier) is the power ratio of a signal to a carrier signal, expressed in decibels. If the dBc figure is positive, then the relative signal strength is greater than the carrier signal strength. If the dBc figure is negative, then the relative signal strength is less than carrier signal strength.

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Spurious Signals
Spurious signals are undesired signals. They can be considered in two classes. They can be stationary; their frequency and amplitude do not change significantly, or non-stationary, where the frequency and/or amplitude change significantly over short time periods.
