   CENTELLAX TG5P1A   Description / Specification:
CENTELLAX TG5P1A 1.5-12.5Gb/s Pattern Generator Remote Tx Head

The Centellax TG5P1A generator heads include integrated two tap de-emphasis conditioning. Commonly used in higher data rate systems to open eyes by counteracting high frequency loss in the channel, applying de-emphasis to the test signal is required for receiver testing. Other vendors’ generators require additional dedicated external signal processors. The internal de-emphasis conditioning in the TG5P1A generator heads eliminates the expense of additional signal processors, as well as the associated signal degradation resulting from the extra cables used to connect them. Each head connects to a PCB12500 controller through a 1 m cable. Specifications. Signal Configuration: Differential, will operate in single-ended mode. Data Line Coding: Non-return to Zero (NRZ). Output Data Rate: 1.5 Gb/s – 12.5 Gb/s. Patterns: PRBS 2^n-1, n=7, 10, 15, 23, 31; 1010 and 1100; Logic 0, Logic 1. Pattern Invert: Available on all patterns except 1010 and 1100. Output Amplitude: 0.2 to 2.0 V in 5 mV steps, single ended. Transition Times: 20% to 80% 30 ps maximum, <20 ps typical. Additive Jitter: <20 ps p-p max. <6.5 Gb/s, <10 ps p-p max. =6.5 Gb/s. Output Offset: -1.8 to +1.8 V in 5 mV steps. Termination Voltage: -2.0 to +2.0 V in 5 mV steps. Cross over: 20 to 80% in 1% steps. De-Emphasis: 2 tap (1 post cursor), 0 to 20 dB in 0.1 dB steps. Standard Calibration $1,350.00 *
*This is a Web introductory price for one calibration of the CENTELLAX TG5P1A. Price does not in most cases include measurement performance data. Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Dynamic Range
In a transmission system, the ratio of the overload level to the noise level of the system, usually expressed in dB. Ratio of the highest to lowest detectable signal of a system, expressed in dB.

POS
Packet over SONET/SDH (POS), is a communications protocol for transmitting packets in the form of the Point to Point Protocol (PPP) over SDH or SONET, which are both standard protocols for communicating digital information using lasers or light emitting diodes (LEDs) over optical fibre at high line rates.

TDMA: Time Division Multiple Access
Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) is a method of sharing a communications carrier by assigning separate time slots to individual users. A channel is defined by a carrier frequency and time slot.
