   ANDO VMG-1000   Description / Specification:
ANDO VMG-1000 Highmegohm Meter

The Ando VMG-1000 Highmegohm Meter is designed to measure the insulation resistance of high-insulation materials, Up to 2 x 10^10 M-ohm of insulation resistance can be measured. This instrument can also be used as a highly sensitive ammeter to measure current in the range of 5 x 10^-14 to 2 x 10^-5 A. The VMG-1000 incorporates a timer for setting a specific amount of absorption current (charging current, etc.) after the measurement voltage has been applied, and also a GO/NO-GO decision function by means of a comparator, which enables initial setting of a measured value. This facilitates repeated measurements under the same conditions, convenient for component inspection. Use of this instrument will greatly raise efficiency not only in research and development work, but also in assembly line inspections. Specifications. Insulation resistance measurements: 5 M-ohm to 2 x 10^10 M-ohm, in 8 ranges. Accuracy: Meter needle range at 1/3 to 3/4 of full scale (Current scale is 7 to 15 uA), ± 4.5 % for 10^2 to 10^7 M-ohm range, ±8% for 10^8 M-ohm range, ± 10% for 10^9 M-ohm range. Short circuit current: Less than 1 mA. Current measurement: 5 x 10^-8 uA to 20 uA, in 8 ranges. Accuracy for full scale: ± 2 % for 1 to 10^-4 uA range.

Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Crest Factor
Crest factor or peak-to-average ratio (PAR) is a measurement of a waveform, calculated from the peak amplitude of the waveform divided by the RMS value of the waveform

Linearity
Linearity is the relative difference between the displayed power ratio, Dx/D0, and the actual (true) power ratio Px/P0 caused by changing the displayed power level from the reference level, D0, to an arbitrary displayed level, Dx.

Phase Noise
Phase noise is the frequency domain representation of rapid, short-term, random fluctuations in the phase of a waveform, caused by time domain instabilities. Phase noise (L(f)) is typically expressed in units of dBc/Hz, representing the noise power relative to the carrier contained in a 1 Hz bandwidth centered at a certain offsets from the carrier.

Sensitivity
Sensitivity is the minimum magnitude of input signal required to produce a specified output signal having a specified signal-to-noise ratio, or other specified criteria.
