Keysight (Agilent) 83621B 20 GHz Synthesized Sweeper

The Agilent 83621B 20 GHz Synthesized Sweeper is a dedicated source optimized for use with Agilent 8510 systems. It combines the high performance and accuracy of a synthesized source with the speed and versatility of a sweep oscillator. The Agilent 83621B provides broadband frequency coverage (45 MHz to 20 GHz) and precise 1 Hz frequency resolution. This source does not have modulation capabilities or a front panel keyboard and display. The Agilent 83621B comes with a rear panel output. Specifications for this model is the 8510 specifications, plus the following. Frequency range: 45 MHz to 20 GHz. Accuracy CW Mode: Same as time base. Accuracy Swept Mode: Sweep Widths <= n × 10 MHz (0.1% of sweep width ± time base accuracy), Sweep Widths >n × 10 MHz and <=400 MHz (1% of sweep width), Sweep Widths >400 MHz and <=4 GHz (4 MHz), Sweep Widths >4 GHz (0.1% of sweep width). Maximum leveled: +10 dBm. Minimum settable: –20 dBm.

Crest Factor
Crest factor or peak-to-average ratio (PAR) is a measurement of a waveform, calculated from the peak amplitude of the waveform divided by the RMS value of the waveform

Linearity
Linearity is the relative difference between the displayed power ratio, Dx/D0, and the actual (true) power ratio Px/P0 caused by changing the displayed power level from the reference level, D0, to an arbitrary displayed level, Dx.

Phase Noise
Phase noise is the frequency domain representation of rapid, short-term, random fluctuations in the phase of a waveform, caused by time domain instabilities. Phase noise (L(f)) is typically expressed in units of dBc/Hz, representing the noise power relative to the carrier contained in a 1 Hz bandwidth centered at a certain offsets from the carrier.

Sensitivity
Sensitivity is the minimum magnitude of input signal required to produce a specified output signal having a specified signal-to-noise ratio, or other specified criteria.
