Keysight (Agilent) 3335A   Description / Specification:
Keysight (Agilent) 3335A 80 MHz Synthesizer/Level Generator

The Agilent 3335A Synthesizer/Level Generator is a wide range source. It has two primary outputs, one with a 50 ohm impedance and the other with 75 ohm impedance, selectable by a front-panel switch. Both outputs operate over a frequency range of 200 Hz to 81 MHz, with a resolution of 0.001 Hz with 11 displayed digits. The frequency settling time is <20 ms to be within 90 degrees of final phase. The standard long-term stability is +/- 1.0E-8 per day or +/- 1.0E-7 per month. With the high stability crystal oven installed, option 001, long-term stability ranges from <5.0E-10 per day after a 24-hr warmup and an oscillator off time less than 24 hrs and <1.0E-7 per year for continuous operation. Harmonics at a frequency range of 200 Hz to 10 MHz appear at -45 dB relative to the fundamental frequency, and at -40 dB at a frequency range of 10 MHz to 80 MHz. Integrated phase noise in a 30 kHz band, excluding +/- 1 Hz centered on the carrier ranges from < -63 dB at 9.9 MHz, < -70 dB at 20 MHz, < -64 dB at 40 MHz to < -58 dB at 80 MHz. All non-harmonically related signals are >75 dB below the carrier or -125 dBm, whichever is greater. The power level range on the 50 ohm output ranges from +13.01 dBm to -86.98 dBm. On the 75 ohm output, the power level ranges from +11.25 dBm to -88.74 dBm. Amplitude settling time is typicaly <500 ms to be within 0.02 dB of the final value. The absolute level accuracy at a maximum amplitude at 100 kHz, in an operating temperature range of 10 to 35 degrees C is +/- 0.05 dB. Level flatness, relative to 100 kHz at full amplitude is the same on both outputs; at +/- 0.07 dB in a range of 1 kHz to 25 MHz, and +/- 0.15 dB in a range of 200 Hz to 80 MHz. Attenuation accuracy from 0 to 18 dB at the 50 ohm output is +/- 0.04 dB across the full frequency range and +/- 0.15 dB at the 75 ohm output from >25 MHz to full range. In the attenuation range of 20 to 58 dB, accuracy is +/- 0.09 dB across full range at the 50 ohm output, and +/- 0.25 dB from 25 MHz to full range at the 75 ohm output. In the attenuation range of 60 to 98 dB at the 50 ohm output is +/- 0.20 dB across full frequency range, and +/- 0.50 dB from 25 MHz to full range at the 75 ohm output. The Agilent 3335A also provides an external frequency reference using its internal 40 MHz master oscillator which can be phase-locked to an external reference signal through a rear-panel BNC connector. The amplitude and frequency requirements of the external signal are as follows: a power level of -7 dBm to +7 dBm (+0.1 V to +0.5 V), with frequency being a sub-harmonic of 40 MHz, >1 MHz.

Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Available Gain
Available Gain is the ratio, at a specific frequency, of power available from the output to the power in from the source.

Decibel (dB)
A unit of measurement of power which indicates relative power. A -10 dB means a reduction in power by 10 times, -20 dB means another 10 times or 100 times overall, -30 means another 10 times or 1000 times overall and so on.

Mismatch Uncertainty
Mismatch Uncertainty is caused by re-reflections between one device (the source) and the device that follows it (the load).

Pulse Power
Pulse Power, the energy transfer rate is averaged over the pulse width. Pulse width is considered to be the time between the 50 percent risetime/falltime amplitude points. Pulse power averages out any aberrations in the pulse envelope such as overshoot or ringing.
