Keysight (Agilent) 5246L Electronic Counter

The HP Model 5246L Electronic counter is a high frequency, general purpose electronic counter. It measures frequencies from 0 to 50 MHz, has display storage which permits reading to be displayed while a new count is made, provides a six-digit display using rectangular (narrow) digital display tubes, displays decimal point position and measurement units automatically, and permits operation with plug-in units which extend the basic range and performance of the counter. It also features solid state design, has low power consumption, is small in size, is easily convertbale for rack mounting, and has modular plug-in circuit boards for simplified maintenance. It has a gate time of 1 ?sec to 1.0 seconds in decade steps, an accuracy of ±1 count ± time base accuracy, and it reads in kHz or MHz for the gate time chosen by the time base selector switch.

Carrier Wave (CW)
Carrier Wave or Continuous Wave is a sinusoidal signal without modulation.

Harmonic
A harmonic of a wave is a component frequency of the signal that is an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency, i.e. if the fundamental frequency is f, the harmonics have frequencies 2f, 3f, 4f, . . . etc.

Noise Floor
Noise floor is the measure of the signal created from the sum of all the noise sources and unwanted signals within a measurement system.

Ripple
Ripple is the small unwanted residual periodic variation of the direct current (dc) output
