Keysight (Agilent) 5305A Frequency Module

The HP 5305A is a Frequency Module that offers you a portable precision frequency counter which will measure frequencies from 70MHz to 1100MHz on channel A and 50Hz to 80MHz on channel B. Signal must pass through zero. Sensitivity can be varied continuously up to 5Vrms by adjusting sensitivity control. Sensitivity can be set automatically by use of AGC (Automatic Gain Control) mode. The counter automatically transfers to AGC mode whenever amplifier is over driven, for added amplifier protection. The 5305A also features a transfer of control lights front panel indicator. The 5305A is a Snap-together Modular Counter for Versatility and Non Obsolescence. 6-digit solid state LED display (gallium arsenide phosphide light-emitting diodes) including decimal point and annunciator units. LED light indicates when display range is exceeded.

Averaging
Averaging is a mathematical process to reduce the variation in a measurement by summing the data points from multiple measurements and dividing by the number of points summed.

Fall Time
Fall time is the time required for the amplitude of a pulse to decrease (fall) from a specified value (usually 90 percent of the peak value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot) to another specified value (usually 10 percent of the maximum value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot).

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Resolution Bandwidth (RBW)
Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) is the minimum bandwidth over which you can separate two signals and still see them.
