Keysight (Agilent) 8114A   Description / Specification:
Keysight (Agilent) 8114A Programmable Pulse Generator

The Agilent 8114A 100 Volt 2 Amp pulse generator helps you maximize test efficiency as the key to reducing time to market without compromising the quality of your product. It shortens characterization and test time by providing: clean, reliable and repeatable pulse waveforms, easy set-up and operation, full programmability and protection of the device under test. The Agilent 8114A generates clean pulses with low jitter and excellent pulse performance at all specified settings in any triggering mode and, of course, across the entire operating temperature range. Parameters and trigger modes can be changed without generating unwanted pulses, so that reliable measurements are guaranteed. As well as generating continuous streams of pulses, the Agilent 8114A can be triggered or gated by an external signal or the MANual trigger key. With the Agilent 8114A you can set the pulse levels in terms of voltage or current, to suit the device you are testing. Pulse Performance; Overshoot/Preshoot/Ringing: < 5% of amplitude ±100 mV. Setting Time: < 100 ns typical. Transition Times (10/90% amplitude): 50 ohm into 50 ohm: < 7 ns (amplitude > 5 V); High-Z into 50 ohm: < 12 ns. Timing Parameters; Measured at 50% of amplitude with 50 ohm source impedance into 50 ohm load. Period: 66.7 ns to 999 ms (Frequency: 1.00 Hz to 15 MHz). Period Accuracy: ± 5% ± 100 ps. Period Resolution: 3 digits best case 100 ps. Width: 10.0 ns to 150 ms. Duty Cycle: 0.1 % to 100% (maximum duty cycle limited for amplitude > 20 V, worst case 15%). Duty Cycle Accuracy: ± 5% ± 500 ps. Duty Cycle Resolution: 3 digits best case 100 ps. Delay: 0.00 ns to 999 ms (maximum value = period – 4 ns). Delay Accuracy: ± 5% ± 1 ns. Delay Resolution: 3 digits best case 100 ps. Fixed Delay: 42 ns (trigger output to output) typical. Double Pulse: (Delay and Double-Pulse are mutually exclusive) 20.0 ns to 999 ms, minimum period 133 ns. Resolution: 3 digits best case 100 ps. Options. Option 001: Variable Baseline ± 25 V. Option UFJ: 1 MB Memory Card. Opt UN2: Rear Panel Connectors (instead of front panel).

dBm
dBm (sometimes dBmW) is an abbreviation for the power ratio in decibels (dB) of the measured power referenced to one milliwatt (mW). Zero dBm equals one milliwatt. A 3 dB increase represents roughly doubling the power, a 3 dB decrease, the power is reduced by about one half.

Millimeter-wave
Millimeter-wave is a term that generally refers to frequencies of 26.5 GHz and above. That is where signal wavelengths fall below approximately 10 mm, and thus the terminology changes from centimeters to millimeters.

Power Repeatability
Power Repeatability is the random uncertainty in reproducing the power level after changing and re-setting the power level. The power repeatability is ± half the span (in dB) between the highest and lowest actual power. Note: - The long-term power repeatability can be obtained by taken the power repeatability and power stability into account.

Stability
Stability is the extent to which a specified property, characteristic, or parameter of a substance, device, or apparatus, remains fixed with the passage of time or with varying environmental conditions.
