Keysight (Agilent) 8447A Preamplifier

The HP 8447A Preamp's performance qualifies it for a number of Synthesized RF Signal Generator uses: to improve the sensitivity of counters, spectrum analyzers, RF voltmeters. EMI meters, power meters and other devices without distortion or degradation of amplitude accuracy: to increase the maximum power avail able from a signal generator or sweeper. Specifications. Frequency Range: 0.1 - 400 MHz. Typical 3 dB Bandwidth: 50 kHz - 700 MHz. Gain (Mean): 20 dB ±0.5 dB at 10 MHz. Gain Flatness Across Full Frequency Range: ±0.5 dB. Noise Figure: <5 dB. Output Power for 1 dB Gain Compression: >+7dBm. Harmonic Distortion: -35 dB for 0 dBm output. Typical Output for < -60 dB Harmonic Distortion: -25 dBm. VSWR: < 1.7. Impedance: 50 ohm. Reverse Isolation: > 30 dB. Maximum DC Voltage Input: ±10 V. Options. Two dual channel versions (Option 001-BNC connectors) which operate with dual channel systems such as oscilloscopes or network analyzers (or the channels may be cascaded for increased gain)

dBc
dBc (decibels relative to the carrier) is the power ratio of a signal to a carrier signal, expressed in decibels. If the dBc figure is positive, then the relative signal strength is greater than the carrier signal strength. If the dBc figure is negative, then the relative signal strength is less than carrier signal strength.

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Spurious signals are undesired signals. They can be considered in two classes. They can be stationary; their frequency and amplitude do not change significantly, or non-stationary, where the frequency and/or amplitude change significantly over short time periods.
