Keysight (Agilent) 8720B Microwave Network Analyzer

The HP 8720B microwave network analyzers characterize microwave components and networks to 20 GHz. These vector network analyzers include a fast-sweeping synthesized source, switching s-parameter test set, and large, full color display. The integral source is fully synthesized, even while sweeping, and it provides stability and accuracy within 10 ppm (typical). Measurement update times are typically about 1 ms per point. Frequency resolution is 100 kHz standard; option 001 provides 1 Hz resolution for narrow-band or long devices. It has tuned receivers and variable-bandwidth IF filters, and provides over 85 dB of dynamic range. Option 003 boosts the forward dynamic range to 95 dB; solutions to 100 dB are available. The built-in test set measures all four s-parameters (both forward and reverse) with a single connection. A step attenuator controls incident power level from -10 to -65 dBm in 5 dB steps, and two internal tees provide bias to active devices through the test ports. Two independent channels can display reflection and transmission characteristics at the same time. The receiver detects both magnitude and phase, and presents results in a variety of useful formats, including group delay, deviation from linear phase, complex impedance, or SWR, on rectangular, polar, or Smith charts. Frequency range: 130 MHz to 20 GHz, Up to 95 dB dynamic range, Directivity of 40 dB, source match of 30 dB, load match 35 dB from 0.13 to 2 GHz and 30 dB from 2 to 20 GHz, Resolution of 100 kHz, Impedance of 50 ohms, Switch type is mechanical, maximum input level of +20 dBm.

*This is a Web introductory price for one calibration of the Keysight (Agilent) 8720B. Price does not in most cases include measurement performance data. Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Clipping is the limiting of a signal so that it never exceeds some threshold.

Modulation is the coding of information onto the carrier frequency. This includes amplitude, frequency, or phase modulation techniques.

Sensitivity is the smallest signal that can reliably detected. Sensitivity specifies the strength of the smallest signal at the input that causes the output signal power to be M times the output noise power where M must be specified. M=1 is very popular
