Keysight (Agilent) 971A Digital Multimeter

The HP 971A Multimeter has sophisticated math functions that allow relative (difference) or percent readings for checking tolerances. Min/Max with time stamp to monitor all types of measurements including temperature, Hold and Auto Hold for saving a reading manually or automatically and average to quiet noisy measurements. Auto diode reverses the leads for you to check semiconductor junction. a secondary digital display shows the range of the function or elapsed time in Min/Max, and auto power off turns off the meter after 30 minutes of inactivity, or defeat it for extended measurements. Specifications. Display count: 4000. Basic accuracy DC volts: 0.3%. Basic accuracy AC volts: 1%. Basic accuracy ohms: 0.5%. Frequency response, AC volts: 1 kHz. DC volts Resolution/maximum reading: 100 µV / 1000 V. AC volts Resolution/maximum reading: 100 µV / 1000 V. Ohms Resolution/maximum reading: 0.1 ohm / 40 M-ohm. Current Resolution/maximum reading: 100 nA / 10 A. Elapsed Time Resolution/maximum reading: 1 min / 1999 min. Frequency Resolution/maximum reading: 1 Hz / 100 kHz. Carrier Wave (CW)
Carrier Wave or Continuous Wave is a sinusoidal signal without modulation.

A harmonic of a wave is a component frequency of the signal that is an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency, i.e. if the fundamental frequency is f, the harmonics have frequencies 2f, 3f, 4f, . . . etc.

Noise Floor
Noise floor is the measure of the signal created from the sum of all the noise sources and unwanted signals within a measurement system.

Ripple is the small unwanted residual periodic variation of the direct current (dc) output
