Keysight (Agilent) E4431B   Description / Specification:
Keysight (Agilent) E4431B 2000 MHz ESG-D Digital RF Signal Generator

The Agilent E4431B 2000 MHz ESG-D RF signal generator provides a wide range of digital modulation capabilities, in addition to a comprehensive feature set and excellent analog performance. The E4431B provides excellent modulation accuracy and stability, as well as unprecedented level accuracy. Use the analog I and Q inputs to generate complex modulation formats required for the development and testing of RF digital communications systems. A built-in quadrature modulator processes the I and Q input signals to provide superior modulation accuracy and stability over 10 MHz (1dB) baseband bandwidth. Superior level accuracy of ±0.5 dB (above –127 dBm, fc <2 GHz) provides unmatched specified performance and minimizes test uncertainty. Even with digital modulation turned on, level accuracy is better than ±1.1 dB. This unprecedented performance ensures precise measurement of even the most sensitive analog or digital receivers. Specifications. Frequency Range: 250 kHz to 2000 MHz. Resolution: 0.01 Hz. Frequency Accuracy: fc x timebase accuracy. Frequency switching speed for Modulation on: <90 ms. Averaging
Averaging is a mathematical process to reduce the variation in a measurement by summing the data points from multiple measurements and dividing by the number of points summed.

Fall Time
Fall time is the time required for the amplitude of a pulse to decrease (fall) from a specified value (usually 90 percent of the peak value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot) to another specified value (usually 10 percent of the maximum value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot).

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Resolution Bandwidth (RBW)
Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) is the minimum bandwidth over which you can separate two signals and still see them.
