EIP 548A Frequency Counter

The EIP 548A frequency counter is a microprocessor-based heterodyne instrument that spans the frequency range from 10 Hz to 26.5 GHz. Using keyboard control, the 548A counter provides frequency offsets and frequency selectivity. Options include Power Measurement, full Systems capability via GPIB or BCD/Remote Programming and D/A Converter output. Full frequency range is covered in three bands. Band 1 is a high impedance input (1 M-ohm/20 pF), and spans a 10 Hz to 100 MHz range, with a sensitivity of 25 mV RMS. Band 2 has an input impedance of 50 ohms, a 10 MHz to 1 GHz range, with a sensitivity of -20 dBm. Band 3 has an input impedance of 50 ohms nominal over a range of 1 GHz to 26.5 Ghz, and sensitivity to -30 dBm. Measurements are presented on a 12 digit LED display that is sectionalized to read GHz, MHz, kHz, and Hz. When the optional power measurement function is activated, the digits on the far right display power in dB, with 0.1 dB resolution, and frequency resolution is limited to 100 kHz.

Standard Calibration $405.00 *
*This is a Web introductory price for one calibration of the EIP 548A. Price does not in most cases include measurement performance data. Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Available Gain
Available Gain is the ratio, at a specific frequency, of power available from the output to the power in from the source.

Decibel (dB)
A unit of measurement of power which indicates relative power. A -10 dB means a reduction in power by 10 times, -20 dB means another 10 times or 100 times overall, -30 means another 10 times or 1000 times overall and so on.

Mismatch Uncertainty
Mismatch Uncertainty is caused by re-reflections between one device (the source) and the device that follows it (the load).

Pulse Power
Pulse Power, the energy transfer rate is averaged over the pulse width. Pulse width is considered to be the time between the 50 percent risetime/falltime amplitude points. Pulse power averages out any aberrations in the pulse envelope such as overshoot or ringing.
