   EXFO PM-1102X (PM 1102X)   Description / Specification:
EXFO PM-1102X Single Channel Optical Power Meter

The Exfo PM-1102X Benchtop Optical Power Meter delivers accurate power measurements over a wide dynamic range along with high resolution and excellent linearity. Choose them for automatically measuring discrete values such as insertion loss or, alternately, for continuous monitoring and data acquisition. These stand-alone power meters provide exceptional performance, flexibility, user-friendliness and extensive integration capabilities. EXFO’s PM-1102X designed with the user in mind. A menu-driven interface guides you through the operation, displaying results clearly. Control your unit remotely with the GPIB and RS-232 interfaces and control codes from any compatible PC or test station. The Exfo PM-1102X Power Meter offers ±0.015 dB linearity with a ±5 % absolute uncertainty and a 0.001 dB power resolution. Whether you are measuring absolute or relative power levels, count on efficient, highly accurate measurements. With its fast stabilization time and high sampling rate, the PM-1102X Power Meter is ideal for system monitoring. To start your data acquisition and take full advantage of the high sampling rates, synchronize acquisitions using the two available trigger types. Select the PM-1100 when measuring high power (up to 20 dBm) in the 750 to 1700 nm wavelength range. The sensitivity of this detector is -75 dBm. Number of detectors: 1. Detector type: GeX. Detector size (mm): 2. Wavelength range (nm): 750 to 1700. Power range (dBm): 20 to -75. Uncertainty (%): ±5, (10 dBm to -35 dBm). Linearity (dB): ±0.015 (0 dBm to –35 dBm). Power resolution (dB): 0.001 (20 dBm to -35 dBm). Wavelength resolution (nm): 1. Fiber type (µm): 5/125 to 62.5/125.

On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Related Optical Terms and Definitions. For a complete list go to our  Terms and Definitions Page.

Chirp
A change in the optical frequency caused by direct modulation of the laser. A chirp is a signal in which the frequency increases ('up-chirp') or decreases ('down-chirp') with time. In some sources, the term chirp is used interchangeably with sweep signal.

Isolation
The extent to which optical power from one signal path is prevented from reaching another signal path.

Polarization Extinction Ratio
Polarization Extinction Ratio is the ratio of optical power in the slow axis of the polarization maintaining fiber to optical power in the fast axis within a specified wavelength range.

Sidemode Suppression Ratio
Sidemode Suppression Ratio is the ratio of average signal power to the optical power of the highest sidemode within a distance from 0.1 to 6 GHz to the signal’s optical frequency, expressed in dB.

Wavelength Stability
Wavelength Stability is the change of wavelength during given time span, expressed as ± half the span between the maximum and the minimum of all actual wavelengths.
