FLUKE 8012A 3 1/2 Digit Digital Multimeter

The Fluke 8012A is a 3 1/2 digit portable/bench DMM, that offers exceptional performance and features. Measurement functions include: dc volts, true-rms ac volts, dc amps, true-rms ac amps, ohms, conductance, and diode test. The 8012A has two additional ranges of low resistance - 2 ohms and 20 ohms. Along with the conductance function, that gives you a resistance range of 0.001 ohms to 10,000 M-ohms. A rechargeable-battery version is available as Model 8012A-01. The 8012A operates on ac line power only. A Fluke-manufactured true-rms converter assures accurate measurements of non-sinusoidal voltage or current waveforms such as squarewaves (crest factor of 1 to 1). This custom hybrid provides low noise and a wide bandwidth. Accuracy is specified to 50 kHz, but the typical -3 dB bandwidth is 200 kHz. When measuring resistance or conductance, up to 500 volts may be applied with no instrument damage. Voltage inputs can handle 1000V dc or peak ac and transients up to 6 kV. DC Voltage Ranges: ±200 mV, ±2V, ±20V, ±200V, ±1000V. DC Voltage Resolution: 100 uV on lowest range 1V on 1000V range. DC Voltage Accuracy: (±0.1 % of reading + 1 digit) on all ranges. AC Voltage Ranges: 200 mV, 2V, 20V, 200V, 750V. AC Voltage Resolution: 100 uV on lowest range 1V on 750V range. Useful Frequency Range: Typically ±3 dB at 200 kHz. Crest Factor: Waveforms with peak/rms ratio of 1:1 to 3:1. Resistance Ranges: 2, 20, 200, 2k, 20k, 200k, 2M, 20M ohms. Resistance Resolution: 1 m-ohm on lowest range 10 kohm on 20 Mohm range. Diode Test: The three diode test ranges are marked with a diode symbol and have enough open circuit voltage to turn on silicon junctions allowing a diode test. Open Circuit Voltage: < 3.5V on all ranges except <16V on 2 ohm and 20 ohm ranges. DC Current Ranges: 200 uA, 2 mA, 20 mA, 200 mA, 2000 mA. DC Current Resolution: 0.1 uA on lowest range 1 mA on 2000 mA range. AC Current Ranges: 200 uA, 2 mA, 20 mA, 200 mA, 2000 mA. Display: 3 1/2 digit (2000 counts), LCD, autozero, autopolarity.

Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Averaging
Averaging is a mathematical process to reduce the variation in a measurement by summing the data points from multiple measurements and dividing by the number of points summed.

Fall Time
Fall time is the time required for the amplitude of a pulse to decrease (fall) from a specified value (usually 90 percent of the peak value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot) to another specified value (usually 10 percent of the maximum value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot).

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Resolution Bandwidth (RBW)
Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) is the minimum bandwidth over which you can separate two signals and still see them.
