The HP 37717A transmission tester provides modular upgradeable solutions for field maintenance, installation, and commission of PDH, SDH, and ATM networks it includes jitter generation and measurements. Measurements: Error analysis to G.821, G.826 and M2100 (M550), based on bit errors and code errors (FAS, CRC4, BIP, REBE); frequency offset, jitter. Interfaces; UPDH: 0.7, 2, 8, 34, and 140 Mb/s to G.703. SPDH: 2, 8, 34, and 140 Mb/s to G.703. SDH: STM-1E, STM-l optical (1310 nm or 1550 nm) and STM-4 optical (1310 nm or 1550 nm). Multiple outputs: 3 additional PDH outputs. PDH Alarms: AIS, signal loss, pattern loss, errors, frame loss, CAS/CRC multiframe loss, remote alarm, and remote multiframe alarm. SDH Alarms: MS AIS, Path AIS, MS FERF, Path FERF, TU Loss of Pointer, TU Path AIS, TU Path FERF. SDH Payload Mapping: 2 Mb/s (TU-12), 34 Mb/s (TU-3), and 140 Mb/s as G.709.
