General description of the used AGILENT 8920A for sale.
The Agilent 8920A portable RF communication test set supports tone sequential, digital paging (CCITT, POCSAG, ZVEI, etc.), DTMF, trunking, and cellular signaling. The automation of measurements, test routines and controlling of external instruments are enabled with a built-in controller. The Agilent 8920A contains signal generator with an output frequency range of 30 to 1000 MHz. The accuracy and stability are dependant on the internal reference oscillator +/- 0.015 Hz. It takes less than 30 sec for the oscillator to reach within +/- 2 ppm of its final frequency after turning on the instrument. Further, less than 150 ms are required to be within 100 Hz of the carrier frequency, and the minimum resolution is 1 Hz. At the RF in/out port, the output level accuracy is +/- 1.8 dB for levels >= -127 dBm, and is typically +/- 1.0 dB for all levels. The output can range from -137 to -20.5 dBm into a 50 ohm load. The reverse power protection goes to 60 watts continuously, or up to 100 watts for 10 seconds/minute. The level accuracy at the duplex output is +/- 1.5 dB. The duplex output is reverse power protected to 200 mW. The min. resolution is 0.1 dB. Spurious signals at the duplex output occur at <= -2.5 dBm, while at the RF in/out port, they occur at <= -26.5 dBm. Harmonics occur at levels below -30 dBc, while non-harmonic tones are detectable below -60 dBc (at >5 kHz from carrier). The maximum FM deviation for rates over 25 Hz is 100 kHz for carrier frequencies from 30 MHz to <249 MHz, 50 kHz from 249 to under 501 MHz, and 100 kHz from 501 to 1000 MHz. The internal FM rate range covers DC to 25 kHz (1 dB BW); the Ac-coupled external FM rate range covers a range from 20 Hz to 75 kHz (typically 3 dB BW), while the DC coupled rate range covers from DC to 75 kHz (typically 3 dB BW). FM accuracy for deviations <= 10 kHz is +/- 7.5% of setting +/- 50 Hz.The center frequency accuracy in DC FM mode is +/- 500 Hz with an external source impedance less than 1 k-ohm. AM frequency range covers frequencies from 30 MHz to 1 GHz. The AM depth is 0 to 90% (usable to 99%) for a duplex out level <= -2.5 dBm or an RF in/out level <= -27 dBm; 0 to 70% (usable to 90%). The AM rate can range from 20 Hz to 25 kHz, in a 3 dB BW. The audio source frequency ranges from DC to 25 kHz, with an accuracy of 0.025% of the setting. The output level can range from 0.1 mV to 4 Vrms, with a maximum current of 20 mA. The output impedance is less than 1 ohm. The output level is accurate to +/- 2% of setting plus resolution. The Agilent 8920A can make RF frequency measurements from 30 MHz to 1 GHz, with a level range of 1 mW to 60 W continuously. Power measurements can be made at levels from 1 mW to 60 W with an accuracy of +/- 10% of reading +/- 1 mW. SSB measurements can be made from 10 to 1000 MHz in a bandwidth of 20 to 70 Hz, with distortion and noise at <3%. The AF analyzer frequency measurements can range from 20 Hz to 400 kHz, with an accuracy of +/- 0.02% plus resolution plus timebase accuracy. AF AC voltage measurements can range from 0 to 30 Vrms to an accuracy of +/- 3%, with 150 micro-volts of residual noise. DC voltage can be measured across a range of 100 mV to 42 V to an accuracy of +/- 1% of reading plus a DC offset of +/-45 mV. The internal oscilloscope has a frequency range of 2 Hz to 50 kHz, with a scale/devision of 10 mV to 10 V and an amplitude accuracy of +/- 1.5% of reading +/- 0.1 division. The time/devision ranges from 1 usec to 200 ms. Options: 001 (high stability timebase), 004 (tone/digital signalling), 007 (low-level RF power measurement), 008 (cellular mobile RF power measurement range, 010 (400 Hz high pass filter), 011 (CCITT weighting filter), 012 (4 kHz bandpass filter), 013 (C-message weighted filter), 014 (6 kHz bandpass filter), 016 (high-level RF power measurements), 019 (variable notch filter), 020 (radio interface card), 050 (improved residual FM performance), 102 (spectrum analyzer with tracking generator and ACP).
