All ranges for 23 II Multimeter is protected against overloads, including a fused 10 amp range for each model. All voltage inputs are protected to recover or fail safe from power line-surges from major feeders, as defined in IEEE-587-1980, Category B, which includes simulated lightning and load switching transient pulses up to 6 kV superimposed on 660V power lines.
